Joey Logano Visits CHaD and David's House

For Immediate Release

Logano Makes Visit To David’s House
19-Year-Old Driver Bears Gifts From GameStop Sponsor

Lebanon, N.H. (June 26, 2009) – Joey Logano moved from his hometown of Middletown, Connecticut at a young age, but he still maintains strong roots in the New England states.  This is evident by his charities of choice -- Children’s Hospital at Dartmouth (CHaD) and David’s House; two facilities that help give children and their family’s first-class healthcare and support throughout the region.

With the upcoming racing action at the New Hampshire Motor Speedway (NHMS), Logano took time out to visit David’s House on Thursday, June 25.  While there he dropped off several video game consoles and games from his NASCAR Nationwide Series sponsor, GameStop, and visited with many of the children and families who use David’s House while receiving treatment at CHaD.  Logano also made the trip next door to CHaD to visit with children who were not able to make it to the David’s House event.

“I have a lot in common with these kids here, and we can really relate to each other,” said Logano.  “CHaD and David’s House are full of kids who like to hang out with their friends or who love to play video games, just like any other teens -- the fact that they may have Cystic Fibrosis or Leukemia doesn’t stop them at all from doing what other kids their age do.  That passion for living is what stood out the most to me when I first came here and it made me want to help in any way that I can.”

In addition, Logano will be the guest speaker at the annual Governor’s Breakfast that will take place on Friday morning, June 26, at NHMS.  The breakfast is one of the largest fundraisers of the year for CHaD.

“I’m fortunate to be able to drive racecars for a living, at the highest levels of motorsports in this country, at 19-years-old,” sounded Logano.  “Some of these kids here have not been as fortunate as I have, but they still get the same joy out of life that I do.  A lot of us could learn what it’s like to live life to the fullest by taking a page from these kids.  They stare hardship in the face every day and power on!”
